About Laredo Scholarship

The Laredo Student Assistance Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering students from Laredo, Texas, by alleviating the burden of student debt. Our mission is to help hardworking, deserving students who face financial challenges in pursuing higher education by providing financial support to reduce or eliminate their student debt. We believe that education is the key to a brighter future, and we are committed to ensuring that no student is held back from achieving their dreams due to financial constraints. By partnering with community members, businesses, and donors, we are building a pathway to a debt-free future for the next generation of leaders from Laredo.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must have graduated from a Laredo high school in Laredo, TX,  and completed a degree from a non-community college or university with a minimum cumulative college GPA of 3.5. Applicants must demonstrate financial need by disclosing household income and submitting a written statement detailing their financial situation, including any challenges faced. Required documentation includes high school and college transcripts, proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, and a college loan statement.

A financial award will be granted to the finalist(s) to assist in repaying loans incurred during the pursuit of their degree.
